Dundas Castle
Dundas Castle is a 15th-century castle, with significant additions by William Burn added during the19th-century. This beautiful castle is situated in the Dalmeny parish of West Lothian, Scotland. The home of the Dundas family since the Middle Ages, it was sold in the late 19th century by William Russell and is currently the residence of politician and businessman Sir Jack Stewart-Clark.
Sir Jack inherited the property from his late mother in 1995, it had deteriorated substantially. He initially considered selling it as the property has deteriorated greatly and instead chose to embark on a programme of restoration. The Keep (a fortified tower used a refuge should the rest of the castle fell to the enemy) had uninhabited for over 300 years, had its parapet rebuilt and its stonework restored. The castle was installed with electricity, heating, toilets and a kitchen. The drawing room, library and dining room were beautifully redecorated and castle is now a 5 star exclusive venue, often used for weddings.
