We are a family run, professional, reliable, caring Minibus and Coach transport operated located on the east coast of Fife. A1 Coaches have a large fleet of vehicles ranging from 8 to 72 seat coaches, some of which are Wheelchair Accessible.
When and How did A1 Coaches begin? A1 Minibus and Coach Services LTD was established in 1979 by the late Ian Goodsir, Ian started out in Methilhill with one 8 seater minibus doing a local service contract for Fife Council.
One of Ian's hobbies was Greyhound racing, both him and his wife Isobel Goodsir attended Thornton Greyhound racing track on a weekly basis. One evening Ian was lucky to get a decent win at the greyhounds and decided to buy himself a minibus with his winnings and that's where his journey began.
The business began to grow reasonably quick, Ian decided to introduce Coaches to his fleet and he managed to secure contracts to keep the wheels turning. Son, David Goodsir joined the company as Transport Manager, Son, Kenny Goodsir joined the team as a mechanic and youngest son Ian junior as a driver.
Ian's wife Isobel also played a key role in the business as an escort for a local school contract transporting children with special requirements to and from school. As the years have passed by the business has gone from strength to strength and now have a fleet of around 62 vehicles with 52 employees.
